Whitsand Bay Windsurfing Guide

Whitsand Bay (sometimes called Tregantle) is a veritable adventure of a watersports location being at the end of a long hike to the bottom of the cliff from the parking area on the side of the road. A firing range may scupper your plans if shooting is taking place but assuming you are allowed access you'll be greated with a picturesque beach with lots of space and in summer blue waters.

Crowding is never going to be an issue here because only the determined and adventuous or those aware of the quality goods will likely make the long walk down to the beach. Open to swell and wind from angles ESE-WNW the possibility of getting really good conditions is all down to checking the directions which should be made easier by setting the Bigsalty alerts. Gusty / windless when offshore and probably too light when onshore due to the cliffs.

A popular spot with surfers but ideal for wind sports in cross and cross-on conditions. Look out for WNW and ESE for sideshore conditions and WSW for cross-on conditions.
