Compton Gallery

Compton is an epic spot in very scenic surroundings. It is situated at the base of a cliff under the old military road and can be difficult to access. In a SE and NW it can have epic down the line days, which makes it one of the only spots really to wave-sail in a NW on the island.

Features

The waves here will be bigger than anywhere else on the island given the prevailing direction and the waves can be also be very punchy and bowly in places due to the rocky outcrops and bars on the seafloor. Down-the-line conditions in SE and NW winds or unique to this IOW beach.

Considerations

Watch for rocky outcrops at low tide opposite the car park - you may not be able to see them but they are there! Access to the beach is not totally easy because of a set of steep stairs so rigging on the beach might be a good idea.
