Barvas Gallery

Barvas also known as Bus Stops is a bay of large pebbles / boulders at the mouth of a loch just a few stops further east than the other firm favourite windsurfing location Bragar. Waves break on the westerly corner of the bay creating peeling lefthanders with the occassional section that break towards the channel in the middle of the bay. The left handers are a great quality wave albeit shorter than the waves at Bragar. This is compensated by the feeling of space the bay has on the occassion when you loose your kit trying a move and must resort to swimming after it.

On the north east side of the bay is a totally separate area of reef that in theory has huge potential in north easterly winds.

Barvas (Bus Stops) is the better alternative to Barvas when the wind turns more south. South West to South winds are ideal here and if this combines with swell, you might just have the best conditions available in a 5000 mile radius on planet earth.

Features

South west to southerly wind directions.

Considerations

Check your experience level required based on the conditions and ideally enter the water with a buddy and spare rope.
